Abstract
A Z-scheme based BiOI/CdS heterojunction was synthesized by in-situ stirring and calcining method. Various characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, diffuse reflection spectroscopy (DRS), photoluminescence (PL) and photocurrent test were used to study the crystallographi structure, morphology and optical and electrical properties of the as-prepared samples. By constructing a Z-scheme heterojunction, the transfer of photogenerated carriers between BiOI and CdS is realized, thereby effectively improving the photocatalytic activity. Free radical capture experiments show that •O− 2is the main active substance for photocatalytic dye degradation. The photocatalytic mechanism of the CdS/BiOI composites to form a Z-scheme heterojunction under visible-light is proposed. This work might provide novel conception for the design and construction of high-performance Z-scheme based photocatalysts.
