Abstract
Using the convex hull method and the TernAPI software package, we study for the first time the isothermal sections of the Al-Mg-Sb system in a temperature range of 800–1500 K. A thermodynamic model of the liquid phase in the ternary system is constructed by the Muggiani method, based on the known properties of phases in boundary binary systems. A new description of the thermodynamic properties of the high-temperature modification of the β-Mg3Sb2 phase is proposed. The convex hull method is used to calculate the liquidus surface of the system and to determine the coordinates of the liquid phase stratification region.
