Abstract

Modern Russian society is extremely inhomogeneous. It is characterized by a high degree of income stratification, ideological contradictions, significant regional differences, and an identity crisis. All this undermines social stability and reduces the potential for sustainable growth. The problem of social consolidation as a necessary condition for transition to innovative development was considered at a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
