Abstract
With the development of nuclear power technology, the authorities requirements to nuclear power plants are becoming higher and higher in the word. The industry has also focused on the improvements of the safety of nuclear power plants, which include improving the mitigation capability for severe accident and developing the severe accident management guidance. While the usability of equipment and instruments needed for severe accident management will determine the implementation and validity of severe accident management guidance for potential severe accidents. This paper mainly introduces the usability evaluation of equipment for severe accidents in Fuqing nuclear power plant and also the primary consideration of equipment qualification for severe accident.
