Abstract

CoNiWReP high entropy alloy (HEA) coatings have been prepared in aqueous solution using direct current (DC) and pulse current (PC) electrodeposition technologies. The prepared amorphous HEA coatings are silver-white in appearance and have good adhesion to the substrate. The coatings prepared by PC are dense and suitable for engineering purpose. The HEA coatings have a cathodic protection effect for Cu substrate, providing a corrosion protection efficiency up to 73.8%. Importantly, this work provides a low cost and realizable industrial solution for the preparation of HEA coatings, which will be an innovation potential for HEA coatings by electrodeposition.
