Abstract

During the period 1979–83 methods were introduced for efficient, sequence-specific assignment of the 1H NMR spectra of proteins. This now provides the basis for determination of three-dimensional protein structures in solution. In addition, sequence-specific resonance assignments are a key for detailed studies of the molecular dynamics and for investigations of intermolecular interactions.
