Abstract

The article presents a reply to various reviews of the author's book Privatizing Water: Governance Failure & the World's Urban Water Crisis which appears in this issue of the journal, and it mentions the reasons why the author decided to write about water privatization. According to the article, the author performed fieldwork in places such as South America and sub-Saharan Africa. The interrelationships between the material and social dimensions of urban privatization are assessed.
