Abstract

In this contribution two coniferous seed cones organically attached to branches are studied. The fossils were collected at the Estancia Kachaike locality within the Kachaike Formation of Middle Cretaceous age from Santa Cruz Province. One type of the seed cones is assigned to Athrotaxis ungeri (Halle)Florin of the Taxodiaceae and the other to a new member of the Cheirolepidiaceae. Reproductive and vegetative structures of these conifers are described and compared with and within other coniferous taxa.
