Abstract

Since condensation of pure vapors is a special case of binary vapor mixtures, any repeated discussion is unnecessary so far as we evaluate wall heat flux and condensation mass flux. Also, a comprehensive review on laminar film condensation of a saturated pure vapor was recently presented by Rose.1 In this chapter, however, the relation between the present results and reported expressions, valuation on reported approximate solutions, and the effect of degree of superheat of vapor upon wall heat flux and condensation mass flux are discussed by using the equations obtained in Chapters 3 and 4. Furthermore, correlation equations for combined forced- and free-convection condensation and approximate solutions for the case of uniform wall heat flux are presented.
