Abstract
Cs concentrations have been determined by neutron activation analyses in 6 amphibolite facies gneisses and 16 rocks in medium to high pressure granulite facies. The Cs concentrations are discussed relative to K and Rb contents (determined previously by X-ray spectrography). Cs is significantly depleted relative to K in the granulite facies rocks. This depletion is greater, by about two orders of magnitude, than the previous values for K/Cs ratios in the crust. Cs is also low in the amphibolite facies gneisses. Fractionation between Cs and Rb is observed.
