Abstract

Evolution of high-power monochromatic laser field in multilayer optical coatings is simulated and obtained results are presented. Laser-field intensity is supposed to be high enough to induce considerable variations of refraction index. Nonlinear field propagation through single dielectric film and both anti-reflection and high-reflection multilayer coatings is studied. There are considered step and gradient sine-shaped variations of refraction index of the coatings. Formation of field disruption is shown to begin under certain combination of field and film parameters. The disruption can result in super local increasing of field amplitude. Influence of coating parameters upon process of local field increasing is investigated.
