Abstract

THERE ARE at least four problems in the field of library science concerning the education of reference librarians which the use of computer-assisted instruction can make a start towards remedying. One of these problems is concerned with the acute shortage of faculty members. The bulk of the time of the existing faculties is, because of this handicap, devoted to basic education, leaving little time for tutorial instruction and advanced seminars.
