Abstract

AbstractDirectional Compton profiles along the [100] and [111] directions of GaAs are measured using 59.54 keV γ‐rays from a 3 Ci241 Am annular source. A pseudo‐potential calculation is performed to calculate the Compton profile and autocorrelation anisotropies. Inclusion of a non‐local term in the pseudopotential appears to give better agreement with experimental result. The calculated period of the oscillatory anisotropy tends to be shorter than that experimentally observed. The experimental autocorrelation anisotropy has a small peak near the origin which is not accounted for by the theory.
