Abstract
The long range atomic correlations through double Yukawa potential are subjected to statistical thermodynamic theory to obtain an analytical expression for the equation of state which is found to be valid over a wide range of temperature and pressure. This equation of state, which includes the softening of the hard sphere reference system and a realistic form of the distribution function, is used to calculate the deviation of the compressibility factor from the ideal condition in terms of repulsive and attractive forces.
