Abstract

Fire and building collapses are the most unexpected devastating problems in Bangladesh. Although the government has taken various safety measures for Ready-mate Garments (RMG) sector. However, Non- RMG factories are still lacking of safety measures. Finding an economic and efficient and effective fire and electrical safety for sustainable operation is still challenges. In this research, we are reporting a case study in Bogura where we implementation an economic and sustainable fire and electrical safety measures for a feed mill. As part of study for electrical safety we created an electrical Single Line diagram (SLD) from existing layout for load flow analysis by using Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP) software. And based on load flow analysis we take corrective action in electrical layout. We used Pathfinder software to find an optimum evacuation time in case of any fire hazard. We found a significant reduction by 79% (from 24/year to 5/year in 3 years) of fire incidence in Nourish Poultry and Hatchery Limited (NPHL) by incorporating our comprehensive study.
