Abstract
Introduction: Segmental procedures in Orthognathic Surgery have a long historical tradition, mainly because orthodontic treatment in combination with orthognathic surgery was not standard. With the improvement and refinement of orthodontics the need for segments has definitely decreased though there are still mandatory indications for segmented orthognathic procedures.
