Abstract

This paper proposes a novel power control method for a grid-forming inverter that can control the desired active and reactive powers according to simple complex control principles described only in-domain. They do not need any Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) nor any dq-transform operations. The proposed method consists of two control loops; an outer loop for the power droop control and an inner loop for the output voltage control. This paper describes control design for the outer complex droop control and the inner complex feedback systems. The proposed control method is investigated by simulations with a C control program and by experiments with a DSP-based digital control system, and is validated.
