Abstract
SummaryThis paper discusses and compares the two most popularly used methods for sealing anodic oxide coatings on aluminium, viz steam sealing and water sealing. Various virtues have been claimed for each method, based in the main on laboratory experience. This paper relates to a series of tests carried out using industrial plant facilities. Experimental data and results of tests, both destructive and non-destructive in nature, are presented in both tabular and graphical form.
