Abstract

Abstract Several methods to detect Raman signals by quenching the fluorescence from protein molecules which show high fluorescence have been studied. The several methods include changing the wavelength of the excitation source, exposing the sample to small power laser radiation for a long time, exposing the sample to high radiation, surface enhanced Raman scattering and aqueous solution extraction by nitrobenzene. The best means of quenching the fluroscence from the bovine serum albumin sample in aqueous solution is the nitrobenzene extraction technique. The laser Raman spectrum of bovine serum albumin is reported.
