Abstract
A comparison of joints and airphoto linears in N.-central Texas indicates that an average of 66% of the linear sets coincide with joint sets in the field. An average of 36% of the joint sets have no correlative linear sets in the vicinity of field check points. Locally, the difference in strike of the major joint and linear sets is 21 degrees . Faults are accurately depicted as linears on the aerial photographs in this semi-arid region.
