Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to identify differences between local and non-local visitors in local festivals. Using the data collected from two agricultural food festivals, this study conducted a multi-group structural equation modeling analysis. Results show that festival/escape and family togetherness motivation dimensions were found to positively influence involvement for both local and non-local visitors. While local food motivation positively influenced involvement only for non-local visitors, socialization motivation contributed to only local visitors’ involvement. Furthermore, the role of involvement in behavioral intention as well as satisfaction was found to be significant between local and non-local visitors.
