Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of scalp needles and trocar in enhanced 320-slices CT scans. Methods A total of 3000 cases of enhanced CT scan were divided into two groups:the intravenous trocar group and the scalp needles group. Indicators including puncture site pain, contrast agent leakage and interface loosening were compared between two groups. Results Compared with scalp needles group, the situation of puncture site pain, contrast agent leakage and interface loosening significantly reduced in intravenous trocar group (P < 0. 01 ). Conclusions Intravenous trocar has characteristics including soft tubes and spiral interfaces so it can decrease complications, ease pains and improve successful rate for patients received 320-slices CT scans. Key words: Trocars; Scalp needle; CT enhancement; Comparative study
