Abstract

Recently, interest in scientific research using submillimeter electromagnetic waves has been increasing rapidly, and with it, available submillimeter sources are either too weak or too big and expensive. Therefore, a compact submillimeter FEL project is being developed now at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. The machine is based on a dedicated 10-MeV L-band linac. All aspects of the feasibility study of the project are discussed. The expected parameters of the machine are listed.
