Waste treatment facilities reduce, reuse, and recycle (TPS 3R) exist in order to increase community participation in reducing waste at the source. This paper aims to determine the distribution and describe the performance of TPS 3R in Sleman Regency in reducing household waste and realising circular economy activities at the community level. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with spatial analysis across 42 TPS 3R units in Sleman Regency. Distribution of TPS 3R is almost evenly spread across all subdistricts and clustered in urban areas. Facilities in urban areas tend to be operational, whereas in rural areas some are not. Population density, accessibility, economic level, and employment type are external factors that affect the sustainability of facilities. This has an impact on internal factors, namely managerial capacity, managers’ welfare, and operational financing capacity. Both factors influence the type of innovation undertaken in support of the circular economy.

  • M Andang Novianta + 2 more

The Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has rivers that cross rural and urban areas that are still used by the community and industry. However, cases of river water pollution in DIY are a major issue in 2021. It is very important to classify rivers according to class so that further analysis and action can be carried out. This study conducted a grouping analysis of rivers in DIY based on water quality parameters such as Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Phosphate, Fecal Coli, and Total Coliform. The grouping method uses the K-means algorithm. The data source is secondary data from the DIY Provincial Environment and Forestry Service. The data is in the form of 56 river samples observed in November 2020. The description of the data shows that the average of the 56 river water samples is 24.95 for TSS, 8.84 for DO, 4.33 for BOD5, 20.36 for COD, 0 .54 for Phosphate, 22.820 for Fecal Coli, and 59.210 for Total Coliform. The results of grouping with k=6 are the best compared to k = 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8. The number of members in this grouping is n1 = 14, n2 = 1, n3 = 1, n4 = 5, n5 = 18, and n6 = 17. The cluster that has the highest average TSS, BOD, and COD values is the 3rd cluster (Rivers in Bantul and Sleman Regencies). The cluster that has the highest DO value is the 6th cluster (Rivers in Bantul Regency). The cluster that has the highest average Phosphate value is the 2nd cluster (Rivers in Bantul, Sleman, and Gunungkidul Regencies). The cluster that has the highest average Fecal Coli and Total Coliform values are the 4th cluster (Rivers in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta City, and Sleman Regency).

Purpose: This research aims to identify spatial distribution and risk factors related to the occurrence of COVID-19 in Sleman Regency. Methods: This study used the geographical information system (GIS) software to map the spatial distribution of COVID-19 cases. Pearson correlation and linear regression examined the relationship between the selected variables and COVID-19 incidence. The spatial autocorrelation of the COVID-19 cases was carried out using Moran's I and LISA. Geographically weighted regression (GWR) and multiscale GWR (MGWR) were used to examine the local level. Results: Multivariate analysis results showed that shopping facilities (coeff. =10.02; p-value <0.001) and population density (coeff. =0.0004; p-value <0.001). The spatial autocorrelation test showed a positive and significant spatial autocorrelation between the presence of public facilities (Moran's I=0.600) and population density (Moran's I=0.495) with the incidence of COVID-19 in Sleman Regency. The MGWR model has been proven to be the most appropriate in describing the incidence of COVID-19 in the Sleman Regency (adj R 2 =0.643; AIC c =177.14). Conclusion: The spatial approach has been used to prevent the spread of COVID-19. For example, micro-based social restriction monitoring efforts and COVID-19 vaccination campaigns can focus more on areas with more shopping facilities and densely populated areas.

Waste is an increasingly complex environmental issue due to population growth, urbanization, and changes in consumption patterns. Condongcatur Village, the most populous area in Sleman Regency, faces serious challenges in waste management, particularly in increasing community participation. This study aims to issue a waste management policy in Condongcatur Village based on Sleman Regency Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2015, identify the main obstacles to policy implementation, and develop strengthening strategies to make it more optimal and sustainable. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with source triangulation. The results show that the waste management policy in Condongcatur has been implemented through a household waste sorting program, a waste bank, and the management of the 3R TPS. However, the level of community participation is not evenly distributed across the various groups. The main obstacles include limited facilities and infrastructure, weak coordination between stakeholders, and the challenge of institutional poverty in waste management. Based on an evaluation using George C. Edward III's policy implementation model and William N. Dunn's policy evaluation model, the policy was deemed quite effective but not yet optimal. This study recommends strengthening public education, improving supporting facilities, and strengthening the 3R waste management system (TPS 3R) and community-based waste management networks.

Furthermore, the external and internalfactors related to competitiveness are listed. In further sections, the exampleof Gübretaş is assessed with internal and external competitive factors and itscompetitive tools are explained. Advices for Gübretaş to be more competitiveare also given. In this paper, the reasons for companies to compete are statedand external and internal factors affecting the competition level of companiesare explained. Combination of these external and internal factors affects levelof the competition, In other words, it affects the success of thecompanies. Therefore, the companiesshould deeply analyze these factors, so that they can choose the bestcombination of tools for competition. Being more competitive let the companiesgain more market share in their field. Being big gives advantages for companies. The reason for this is thatbig companies can have more sources than other ordinary companies. Thesecompanies use tools like price, promotion, etc to compete with ordinarycompanies. Therefore, if today’s companies want to obtain success in thecompetition, they should increase their sources as much as possible to defendthemselves against attacks by their competitors. To do this, they shoulddetermine the best practices for competition.

Analysis of the Relationship Between Implementation and Policy for Regional-Scale Waste Management in Garut District
  • Sep 29, 2025
  • Engineering, MAthematics and Computer Science Journal (EMACS)
  • Suhenra Maulana

Waste management is currently still a big challenge for all cities/regencies in Indonesia where there is still a lot of household waste that has not been managed and still relies on open dumping. This study aims to determine the relationship between the existence of a policy for the provision of regional-scale Waste Treatment Facilities with TPS 3R and its implementation in each village/sub-district in Garut District. The research method used is quantitative, and the data analysis used in this study is explanatory research which aims to explain whether or not there is a relationship between the independent variables, namely knowing the regent's instruction letter regarding the provision of regional-scale Waste Treatment Facilities with TPS 3R. The process of analyzing research data using the Fisher's Exact Test statistical test shows that the p-value is 0.158. Based on the applicable provisions, if the p-value is smaller than the significance level (α = 0.05) then H_0 (null hypothesis) is rejected and H_1 (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. Therefore, it was found that the p-value is greater than the significance level (0.158 > 0.05) then H_0 is accepted, which means that there is no statistically significant relationship between knowing the policy of providing regional-scale Waste Treatment Facilities with TPS 3R with the implementation of the provision of waste treatment facilities. This means that knowledge of the existence of policies through the regent's instruction letter does not have a significant effect on the implementation of waste treatment in villages/sub-district areas, this could mean that there are other factors that have a greater influence on the implementation of waste treatment in villages/sub-districts.

Internal and External Influential Factors on Waste Disposal Behavior in Public Open Spaces in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
  • Mar 13, 2019
  • Sustainability
  • Pagnarith Srun + 1 more

Over the last decade, municipal solid waste generation in Phnom Penh has increased noticeably; however, the waste management system is far from satisfactory. Considerable amount of waste is left uncollected, as well as intentionally disposed of in public open spaces. External and internal factors can trigger these problems. Possible external factors are low collection frequency, low cleaning services, and insufficient facilities such as small dumpsters. Possible internal factors, which also play an important role in this issue, include low awareness, insufficient knowledge, and low responsibility for personal waste. To examine the influences of these internal and external factors on people’s waste disposal behaviors, we selected and conducted a questionnaire survey at four sites in Phnom Penh that differ in waste collection frequency and population density. A total of 413 valid responses were obtained. We developed a structural equation model to explain people’s intentions not to dispose of waste in public open spaces. The results showed that personal and social norms, such as perception of social pressure from friends and family and from the government, had significant influences on intention, whereas the influence of external factors was much smaller.
