Abstract

I consider the genesis of independent behavior to be one of the concrete forms of development of the child's personality and its study of fundamental importance for dealing with theoretical problems of shaping the personality and solving a number of practical problems of upbringing. I made such a study in 1972 (see [4]). Its results (plus the results of other studies) appeared in Experimental program for the formation of the personality of the preschooler in kindergarten (Moscow, 1977), which proposed the cultivation of a broad set of socially useful qualities in children (independence, moral behavior, altruism, etc.). The present work is one of the stages in the verification of this program.
