Abstract

Primary Progressive Aphasia (PPA) is a dementia of the language network. Patients have increasing difficulties to produce or to understand words in sentences, which impairs communication in everyday life. Despite the positive effects of prophylaxis and remediation with specific linguistic therapy, Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) offers a greater opportunity to improve communication and quality of life. Our paper will try to highlight the main aspects of speech-therapies using AAC in PPA.
