Abstract

As studied in 111 pairs from 73 families, brother-sister differences in mesiodistal crown diameters proved to be moderately correlated throughout the dentition averaging 0.33 throughout. In both jaws, and for incisors, premolars and molars, the more distal tooth in each case exhibited lower brother-sister difference correlations with the remaining teeth. Since brother-sister size differences for I2 and P1 showed higher correlations with C than did correlations involving I1 and P2, a field of size differences, centering on the canine, was demonstrated.
