Abstract
For original paper see Dickinson and McCarroll, ibid., vol.16, p.459 (1983). The author questions the results obtained by Dickinson and McCarroll on the deficiencies of the molecular approach to atomic collisions. They introduced a distinction between an interaction region and an asymptotic region, the interaction region being that in which the molecular character is dominant.
