Abstract

Gamini Herath: This paper examines the important economic and political ramifications involved in post-conflict management of Sri Lanka. The paper begins with a review of the history of development and the emergence of the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka. This section has now been revised and shortened somewhat and the revision has been done well. The issues are clear and the description of how they developed into the ethnic crisis is well established. The paper also highlights the major turning points in the conflict, such as the anti-Tamil violence in 1981 and 1983, educational deprivation because of change in allocation policy, and so forth.
