Abstract

In the present article [1], the authors reported the results of the laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and Rossetti (LSG-R) fundoplication procedure for a cohort of 450 patients with obesity, with 127 patients having a follow-up of 5 years or more. Among these patients, 74.8% experienced gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) before LSG-R. We especially commend the authors for the interesting topic of their article, as GERD following standard LSG is a major concern, and it is becoming more common owing to the rapid increase in the number of patients undergoing this procedure as treatment for morbid obesity.
