Abstract

The Antihypertensive and Lipid-Lowering Treatment to Prevent Heart Attack Trial (ALLHAT) study group (1) reported that, based on a post hoc analysis, visit-to-visit variability of fasting blood glucose (FBG) is positively associated with all-cause mortality but not with cardiovascular events in subjects without diabetes, while the association is not statistically significant in those with diabetes.
