Abstract
The management of lung carcinomas, whether small cell or non-small cell, frequently requires a combination of radiation and systemic treatment, both in curative and palliative strategies. However, the introduction of new systemic treatments raises the issue of the feasibility of such combinations due to a significant risk of toxicity. This literature review aims to evaluate the risk situations for toxicity when combining radiation with systemic treatment. In certain situations, optimizing the method of irradiation (sequence, dose) is necessary to improve both feasibility and effectiveness.
