Abstract
In his short treatise Πῶς δεῖ ἱστορίαν συγγράφειν, Lucien satirizes contemporary historians, infatuated with classical models, which they awkwardly tried to copy in their works about the Parthic wars : Thucydides, Herodotus, Xenophon, epic poetry, philosophical or rhetorical topics. The paper follows these writing styles from the IInd to the IVth century, by analyzing some texts or documents about Roman wars against Barbarians which have not been much studied in this respect and translating them into French for the first time.
