Abstract

This manuscript presents the research on the combustion problem of a coal dust suspension in a pipe under the swirl flow condition. The physico-mathematical model is based on the approaches of the mechanics of multiphase reacting media by R. I. Nigmatulin. The solution to the problem is performed in a two-dimensional axisymmetric formulation. Godunov’s scheme is used to solve the equation system of the model. The paper provides the results of the parametric analysis of the problem and data on the influence of the flow swirl on the gas temperature fields in the pipe at the initial stage of combustion. The presence of a significantly swirl flow leads to the incomplete combustion of coal dust in the pipe.
