Abstract
ABSTRACTThis essay is an account of the research Cath Keay undertook in Italy in 2009 when she was the Arts Council England's Helen Chadwick Fellow at the British School at Rome and Oxford University. During this time she traced former Colonie Estive buildings of the 1930s and gathered accounts from Italian people who recalled their childhood experiences of these startling and experimental buildings.
