Abstract

Since September 2010, CDS/ASAL have been receiving several conjunction warning messages from JSpOC (Joint Space Operations Centre) for ALSAT-1 and ALSAT-2A based on the high accuracy orbits estimated by the US space surveillance network. Based on the experience accumulated during last years, the CDS/ASAL Flight Dynamics team started developing a collision risk management procedure and suitable tools to retrieve, analyze the awareness collision message, support decision to perform or not an avoidance maneuver, and to calculate the optimal maneuver allowing to reduce strongly the risk of collision. A Conjunction Summary Message Analysis Tool (CSMAT) has been developed and used to assess the risk of collision and another software under development, allow in the future to CDS/ASAL team to perform in-house screening of all objects in conjunction with ASAL satellites.
