Abstract

Nuclear eigenstates for the ${\mathrm{Mg}}^{25}$-${\mathrm{Al}}^{25}$ mirror pair are calculated using the collective model under the assumption of strong coupling. Large deviations in the nuclear shape from axial symmetry are found to be present in these isotopes. Energy levels, static electromagnetic moments, and electromagnetic transition rates predicted by the model are compared with experiment.
