Abstract

Collaborative tests conducted by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Midwest Research Institute prove that the sodium arsenite method for 24-hr integrated measurement of NO/sub 2/ in ambient air is accurate and precise. Simultaneous sampling of ambient air and the same air spiked with NO/sub 2/ indicated that the method had 1) a bias of -3% of the NO/sub 2/ concentration over the measured range of 84-312 micrograms/m/sup 3/, and 2) a lower detectable limit of 8 micrograms/m/sup 3/.
