Abstract

The co-incorporation of Al and Ga atoms into the framework of BEA zeolite by the pH control method was investigated by the means of XRD, XRF, 27Al MAS NMR, 71Ga MAS NMR, XPS, FT-IR and nitrogen adsorption. It was found that most of Al and Ga atoms incorporated are tetrahedrally coordinated in the BEA zeolite framework. The Al/(Al + Ga) ratio in the framework of BEA zeolite can be easily controlled by varying the Al/(Al + Ga) ratio in the bimetallic aqueous solutions, indicating the high potential of the pH control method for co-incorporation of two kinds of metals into the BEA zeolite framework.
