Abstract

This paper explores information technologies and services that allow organizations to operate more efficiently and at less cost by using commercial data-processing centers and data centers. The services provided by these centers are referred to as cloud computing and/or cloud services, and are increasingly often applied in different fields. It is highly relevant for the library community to pay close attention to and consider the possibility of using these services, which can lead to the emergence of a new area, viz., cloud libraries.
