Abstract
BI (bistable interlock), which exists in some creatures and is nowadays applied in engineering, is a kind of micro-structure with two distinct stable positions. In this study, the physical properties and other characteristics of the BI are investigated and the geometric parameters of the BI are optimized. Initially, to filter unimportant factors for individual interlocked structure, GSA-HDMR (global sensitivity analysis - high dimensional modeling representation) is firstly performed through a closed-loop method. An optimization of structure with multiple interlocked sutures is carried out by several novel algorithms to find the optimal design that makes the structure the most stable. The optimal design obtained by the PSO (particle swarm optimization) method turns out to be the best. To improve the modeling efficiency and make the above procedures adaptive and easy to be controlled, the GSA (global sensitivity analysis) and optimization procedures are modeled in ABAQUS based on Python Language.
