Abstract

Sequential analysis of urinary proteins of different molecular weight was carried out in 75 cases of epidemic hemorrhagic fever (EHF) in different phases. Lysozyme, N-acety1-β-D-glucosaminidase, albumin and IgG increased markedly from febrile to polyuric phase, but IgA, IgM and urinary soluble immune complex appeared only in hypotensive and oliguric phase. The results of the study suggest: during the early stage of the disease, the lesions of glomeruli were mild, but more severe in tubules. They were most severe in oliguric phase. During polyuric phase the functions of glomeruli and tubules began to recover. The presence of specific immune complex with C3 in urine suggested that immune reaction might participate in the pathogenesis and development of EHF.
