Abstract

Treatment of arterial hypertension (AH) often requires the appointment of several antihypertensive agents of different drug classes with complementary effects. This approach is endorsed in the latest European guidelines for the management of patients with hypertension. In situations where the combined appointment of a beta-blocker and a dihydropyridine BCC is required, preference should be given to nebivolol, prescribing drugs of these two classes in one or two separate doses, depending on the patient’s risk group and compliance.
