Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of ligasure (ligation beam vessel sealing system) used in laparoscopic panhysterectomy. Methods 36 cases in our hospital from February 2008 to December 2009 using Ligasure laparoscopic panhysterectomy were selected as the observation group, while other 36 cases with the same line of traditional abdominal panhysterectomy as the control group, the operation time, blood loss, postoperative use of antibiotics, length of postoperative flatus, length of stay, and hospital charges were all compared in these two surgical methods. All patients were rechecked in outpatient clinic 1 month and 2 months after treatment. Results The operation time and blood loss in observation group were significantly less than those in the control group. Antibiotics usage time, anal exhaust time, hospital stay were significantly shorter than those in the control group, but the hospital cost was significantly more than that of control group. Conclusion Ligasure used in laparoscopic panhysterectomy has the advantages of shorter operation time, less bleeding, rapid restoration of gastrointestinal function and shorter hospital stay, etc, only except for the relative high cost of surgery, it's a good instrument for laparoscopic panhysterectomy surgery. Key words: Ligasure; Laparoscopic; Laparotomy; Panhysterectomy
