Abstract
Objective To analyse the clinical fectures and prognosis of ocular trauma by traffic accident. Methods The data of 172 eyes of 139 cases of ocular trauma by traffic accident from Jan. 2013 to Dec. 2016 were analyzed retrospectively.The sex, eye, combined with other injures and wound type were observed. Results There were 115 eyes of 94 males, and 57 eyes of 45 females. The ratio of male-to-female was 2.09: 1. There were 89 right eyes and 83 left eyes, the ratio of right to left was 1.07∶1. There were 101 cases(72.66%) with systemic injury. The traumatic type was mainly contusions(52.33%), followed by rupture of eyeball (19.77%), ocular penetrating injuries(16.86%), intraorbital foreign bodies(6.98%) and intraocular foreign bodies(4.07%). The visual function was impaired. The visual acuity <0.05 occupyed for 17.45%, 0.05-0.3 in 43.03% and ≥0.3 in 39.53%. Conclusion Main types of ocular trauma by traffic accident are contusions with more complications and severe visual impairment.
