Abstract

887 Objective: Young age (<35 years) is a poor prognostic factor for breast cancer and currently is regarded alone as an indication for adjuvant treatment in EBC patients (pts). Methods: We reviewed the medical records of 472 EBC patients (pts) who have been treated between 1998–2004 in our department and identified those who were <35 years old retrospectively. We recorded the clinical, pathological and treatment characteristics of these pts and analyzed their survival outcome. Results: Twenty-eight out of 472 (17%) EBC pts were <35 years old. The median age was 34 (26–35). The median follow up was 34 months (4–81). The median height, weight, body mass index were 163cm (147–173), 58kg (40–94) and 22,0 (16,6–32,5) respectively. The median age of menarche was 13 (11–15) and of first childbirth was 24 (19–30). Forty-two % of pts had family history of cancer. Majority had stage 2 and 3 disease (82%) at presentation.
