Abstract

Guo, W., 2020. Climate adaptability of green buildings in coastal areas. In: Gong, D.; Zhang, M., and Liu, R. (eds.), Advances in Coastal Research: Engineering, Industry, Economy, and Sustainable Development. Journal of Coastal Research, Special Issue No. 106, pp. 368–371. Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.The survival and development of human beings cannot be separated from a dependence on the sea. However, with the increase of human activities, the natural environment, especially the coastal environment, continues to deteriorate, and human beings have to strengthen the protection of nature. Therefore, the green building movement, especially green building design adapted to the natural climate environment, has become a current research hotspot. This paper introduces design strategies for green buildings based on climate adaptability, elasticity, and technology for buildings in coastal areas.
