Abstract

EMC activities in the civil sector are evaluated through the analysis of some of the existing EMC standards and regulations. The evaluation shows that these documents could be improved in the area of the immunity of electrical/ electronic equipment. Anticipatory requirements in order to improve EMC activities in management, engineering, scientific, and policy areas are presented. The essential components of an effective and efficient enforcement system are indicated.
