Abstract

The paper attempts to discuss the image of clergy members and the Christian religion in the contemporary cinematography of the last two decades of People’s Poland. It discusses the representation of priests, monks, nuns, religious ceremonies and Christian traditions in Polish feature films. The theme of God and supernatural phenomena are discussed separately, as the mysticism exemplified by Krzysztof Zanussi’s films.
