Abstract

This work is dedicated to such a significant cultural event for the Spanishspeaking world as the launch of the annual publication of the Chronicle of the Spanish,where the work of the Academy in the “era of coronavirus” is described, and the resultof which was the first volume of the chronicle published by ESPASA in November,2020. This chronicle describes the development of the Spanish language and showsThe Royal Spanish Academy activities mainly over the past year. It also includes themost actual and fundamental issues of Spanish studies at the present time, predictsvocabulary and grammar changes of different national Spanish variants, describesvarious initiatives and projects of the Academy.The new strategy for the Academy, which wants to demonstrate greatertransparency in its actions will be analyzed and the most interesting topics from thefirst edition of the chronicle will be observed.
